Ideas to help store owners increase sales Animate Your Window Display Take a minute to consider how often you change your window display, monthly, weekly. You should try to change your window display every day. In one very successful display, five or six mannequins were facing left and right against the backdrop of a city street scene.
Each day the mannequins would move just a few feet in the direction they were facing and the backdrop would pan left or right along the “street.” Sometimes the mannequins would pause to chat with each while others would continue on their way across the store’s window. Even if the store were off the beaten path, a display like that would bring out the natural curiosity that we as humans have. You would want to stop by often to see where the mannequins were and what they were up to. Your display does not necessarily need to tell a story or be as elaborate as the one described, but you should use your creativity and imagination to change your window every day. It even helps to design your display so that it creates the illusion of movement.
